During General Conference 2019, you’ll be able to engage with the people at the Special Session and others around the world that want to be a part of the historic conversation.

1) Twitter (@wjumc) – If you’re looking for plain real-time commentary, join Twitter, the social media platform that allows 140 character message posts called Tweets. Click here to learn how to start your own Twitter account. The official hashtag is #umcgc. United Methodist News Service will also use #gc2019 and #UMC. Your Western Jurisdiction Communicators will also use #wjumc and #OneChurch4All. To learn how to use hashtags on Twitter, click here. Follow the UM News Service at http://twitter/umns or the Western Jurisdiction at http://twitter/wjumc.

2) Facebook (/wjumc) – If you prefer to have more in-depth conversations than 140 characters allow, try joining Facebook. Click here to learn some basics about Facebook including how to start an account. You can like, follow, and join the conversation on the United Methodist News Service at https://www.facebook.com/umnews/ or the Western Jurisdiction Page at https://www.facebook.com/wjumc.

3) Instagram & SnapChat (@wjumc) – If you are an avid phone-ographer and enjoy image-based connections with sisters and brothers in Christ, you can create an Instagram [https://www.instagram.com] and/or SnapChat [https://www.snapchat.com] account.  Your Western Jurisdiction is on @wjumc for both of these social networks.

In addition to our official Western Jurisdiction communications, delegates and observers will be using other social media platforms or their own blogs. The UM News Service and WJ Communicators are also using flickr.com for photo curation. You can find daily updates at https://www.flickr.com/photos/umcommunications/albums and https://www.flickr.com/photos/wjcumc/albums.

Watch the live stream at http://www.umc.org/live and follow along in whichever social media platform that suits you. Your Western Jurisdiction Communicators will be online, ready to connect.
