Host jurisdiction identified for upcoming trial
Presiding Officer Bishop Alfred Gwinn announced today that the jurisdictional trial in which Bishop Minerva Carcaño is Respondent will be held in the North Central Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church. Wespath Benefits and Investments headquarters in the Chicago suburb of Glenview, Illinois has been announced as the location by Bishop Frank Beard, President of the North Central Jurisdictional College of Bishops. Bishop Beard has also accepted the responsibility of assisting all active North Central jurisdictional bishops in selecting approximately 50 jurors from throughout the jurisdiction.
Bishop Gwinn noted that the trial will begin on September 19, 2023 as agreed upon by all involved parties.
