On the heels of the Western Jurisdictional Conference held last week in Scottsdale, Arizona, several pastors from large churches in the Western Jurisdiction released a short statement of support for the WJ’s newest bishop.
Bishop Karen Oliveto was elected out of the California-Nevada Conference where she served as senior pastor of Glide Memorial UMC in San Francisco. CA. Glide is the Western Jurisdiction’s largest membership congregation, and one of the top 100 largest membership congregations in the denomination.

“As pastors of large churches in the Western Jurisdiction, we rise in full support of the consecration of Rev. Dr. Karen Oliveto as a new bishop in The United Methodist Church.
